being on fixed income but wanting the best I like the ASUS ROG Crosshair line and the formula VIII came with vrm water cooling. So I waited so once the new extreme came out the formula was shortly dropped but price stayed high until the 670 AM5 release when the formula disappeared from ASUS and always came up at the bottom of list. Mine I got off Amazon for $370usd after tax and used a few point $324usd to my door. I looked for another not 3-4 days later and no one has them in stock and I check the ASUS site several time a week but I think it tool 2 months and the ROG Crosshair VIII Formula X570 is back on the product list at ASUS for $599.99usd msrp $549;most online stores

Can't wait for next month's vid, probably going to buy my parts for a new PC then. Big CPU gamer (Civ 6, Paradox Grand Strategy) where FPS is NOT the goal, tick rate/how fast the game can run is. I'm coming from a FX-8350 with ddr3 ram, so no matter what, I'm buying new parts.

Glad I found your channel! I was initially put off by the clickbaity title, but you had some great info that no one else does. Everyone mentions the platform costs upgrades, but never bothers to put them in an excel spreadsheet like you did!

Any suggestions you have for what CPU I should pick up would be appreciated, the market is so much different from when I built my current PC about 4.5 years ago. Back then it was a no brainer AMD situation. Now that Intel is fighting back, I have a tough 5 way mexican standoff between the 12600K, 13600K, 5600X, 5800X3D, and 7600X

Currently have a 3900x that is in the RMA process for failing after 2 years. If I were to upgrade right now, I'd go with a 5800x3d since it drops right in.

I have been watching your videos for only a couple of days but I cannot help but notice that the Ryzen 5700, not X, not G, is not included in your tests or comparisons. I am currently searching for such information on this AMD CPU. Is it only an OEM? Advise?

Major shout out super informative video! I don't know whether to wait it out and see if I can get a cheaper used gpu. Just bought a 6600xt from a friend, used for 140$ USD. I have a 1440p monitor and play immersive games, so definitely can use the power. Don't know whether to sell the 6600xt for 200-210$ locally and wait 3-6 months to try to buy a used gpu cheaper. Really have no idea when the miners are going to realize the reality that gpu mining is over and gpus depreciate very quickly. I heard rdna3 is going to have 2x rasterization performance and 2x ray tracing performance over rdna2. Might be better to just wait for rdna3 to drop, then snag an rdna2 gpu. I don't need to game in the next 3-6 months. I can wait it out…let's face it, my steam list of games I haven't "gotten to" is going to keep growing either way.

The greed of miners is hard to predict, and seem to know no limits.

ive been waiting forever, every time i start looking into building new, theres some new tech on the horizon thats going to lower prices or makes things obsolete, and when thats not whats going on, theres a natural disaster making ssd prices skyrocket, or miner have cleaned out all the gpu stock, etc etc etc. Until now, I've been able to get away with putting it off and keep rockin my AMD FX 8350, but last week the cooler fan died, and I had to cannibalize a fan from my old parts supply just to keep running till I can get an order placed for a new build. Literally every time I try to make decisions, theres some outside factor making the choice to not wait longer feel costly.

gaming + streaming mainly, a little rendering. So 12400f or a 5600x (at same ddr4 budget build cost) for a 3060ti. i see you giving an edge to 5600x so im confused now.

Doing my first build and it's a sff. I just grabbed the R5 5600x for 165+ tax on Amazon prime early access. I wanted a 5800x but this price was about 100 less for same performance

    My opinion:
    1. Gamer with AM4 Platform – Upgrade to 5800x3d if compatible.

    2. Gamer with 12000 Platform – Buy a 13000 when they get cheap on Ebay

    3. Gamer who can't wait – Get a 7700x or 7600x and upgrade later to x3d
    4. Gamer with anything else – wait for 7000x3d

    5. Gamer and Productivity – Wait for 7950x3d
    6. Everything above to expensive? 12100F or 12400 are your friends and upgrade later to Ebay 13000 when needed
    7. Productivity with 12000 Platform – Get a 13900k
    8. Any Productivity – Get a 7950x
    9. Argument can be made to use an Ebay 5950x for Productivity if you already have a AM4 Platform.

Looking at the costs it is not worth it to build a new AM4 System now. A 12000 Platform is WAY cheaper and similarly fast. Especially when you hit 1440p and higher. And a AM5 Platform isn't that much more money than a AM4. But then you will have the possibility to upgrade further and have more value in 2-3 years because it already got DDR5.

Can't wait til November 3rd. This is all in the balance in what I deem my graphics card upgrade will be. Definitely starting to get closer to the limit of my system, especially with my plans to either go 1440p or 4k.

I'm waiting for X3D models, with V-cache on Ryzen 7000 series, which are rumored to be coming sometime in the next few months. At bare minimum, they've got a hole where the 7800x should be, so we know we will see that one at the least, and they're rumored to also be releasing a 7900X3D and 7950X3D as well. Then there's the issue of ATX 3.0 power supplies as well, which for the most part still aren't quite here yet. Seasonic is supposed to have their ATX 3.0 Vertex PSUs out by mid-December, so yet more waiting.

Personally about to upgrade from an old 4790K system for mixed productivity and gaming, home computer also used for work and some light rendering workloads for a small side business. I'm buying new motherboard and RAM either way. I'll see what 13th gen Intel does, but right not leaning towards Ryzen 7000. Waiting for The new gen CPUs is the only reason I'm not already running an upper end Ryzen 5000 months ago.

AMD is going to have to seriously drop their price. Intel 13 series are faster, more cores, run cooler, and are backward compatible so you don't have to buy new ram or boards if you don't want too

AMD Ryzen 7000 poor sales are expected. 1.) People are waiting for Intel 13th gen 2.) Most people will wait for the X3D variant. 3.) A lot of AMD fans are satisfied with their current builds.

Does Ryzen 7 5700x is a good combo with RTX 3060/3050 for gaming and some streaming.I have a budget of $1300. which is the best budget motherboard for Ryzen 7?

I can get the 5700X for around £40 more than the 5600X, is it worth the upgrade or should I just stick with the 5600X?

  • ReviLooy

    November 5, 2022 - 12:12 pm

I have changed my mind I am thinking of getting the i5 12600k instead of 5800x3d simple because I will be able to upgrade to i5 13600k later in the future when the earliest cpus have the problems that usually happen in the early stage solved. What do u think wait for 13600k or go for 12600k
