Oof. Hard pass on that "statement" marble. Those kitchens made me dizzy to look at them.

????. “Lime Wash”. We were doing this same look with latex paint and wet rag scrubs back in the late 80’s

Wow! I just found you and am so happy I did! Finally someone who appreciates colors and materials of nature! I also see beautiful natural colored wood cabinets in your kitchen and around your home instead of all white. I appreciate all styles just like you, but really love how you express your own taste while still sharing what is the present style. I'm a blend????. Who knew my green/cream/beige room that I have loved for years now would finally be in style! Love your video

Nick the first 14:24 minutes of this video show the trends but, first, sustainable decor is ridiculously expensive because of the materials that are used to construct as well as the limited availability on the market. Most of these pictures you show many people can't afford to design their homes like that especially in this 'pandemic economy.' Then you bring up at 14:25 thrifting, antique and vintage which lends itself to DIY projects. DIY is the way to go because most people can't afford a designer like yourself. DIY and thrifting gets a bad wrap but its great sustainability by 'upcycling'. Again, anyone who can hire an interior decorator in today's world has to be rich because decor is soooo expensive in this economy. I think its time to lost the idea that the average american household can afford an interior decorator and start doing more DIY'ing. One example is 'duping' things that are ridiculously priced, such as anything from Magnolia Home that is marked up 15X retail. You can dupe by DIY'ing similar products that are carried at PRICEY places like Kirkland's, Magnolia Home, Home Goods, and even, At Home. I think that the economy is going to get more 'super-inflated' and DIY decor will have to be what most people choose. I just think that your channel and your ideas focus too much on (and you are talented BTW) what the upper crust can afford and not the average American household. My parents were interior designers and the only ones even in their days of business (1970's & 80's) that could afford their services were the clients who had at least one person per household making $100,000+ a year. Again, sustainable woods, marbles, granite and all that is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE which is proved by tile stores that are carrying products that are now running $35.00 per square foot compared to two years ago some of those products were priced 2X cheaper. I think its time to come back down to Earth where most of us live on a tight budget and DIY is the only possibility little lone the only choice.

I’m not a fan of desks with no storage. Everyone needs filing & storage space.
We’ve been lucky that we’ve always had a study in our homes.
Even now in our retirement we have a Study/Sitting Room. It’s nice to have more than one area
to sit and read or watch t.v.

The problem with you Nick is that you only like one style and that's it. You never show anything in different design styles. And when you do you always comment on "its not for you" Some of us still like Muskoka, cottage, not cluttered farmhouse , etc etc I like you, but I would like to see more samples of different design styles please.

I love green. If I only had to wear that one colour forever, I wouldn’t mind. I painted my office a rich khaki green and I absolutely love it

Love your videos! Since it’s almost ubiquitous now, would you consider doing a video focusing on design tips for the Home Office? I (and I’m sure lots of others) would love to get your take on it!!! My apologies if you’ve already done one and I’ve missed it. Thank you for the videos and keep up the great work! ❤️

Honestly surprised that you like the Roman clay plaster look. The lime wash I can see…texture is cool, but honestly the plaster feels like people are trying to force an ancient Roman villa into a suburban house or urban apartment. It seems, to use your word, inauthentic. Like those walls are obviously 2x4s and sheetrock, not stone or handlayered plaster, so it's like, who are you trying to fool? It reminds me a lot of a textured look my parents had put onto the walls during a 2004 remodel. I didn't get it then and I don't get it now.

Because of the pandemic, we have lost many elderly. This has resulted in more and better estate sales and trips to the thrift store. Unfortunate events have contributed to gains in interior design, especially for those on a budget.

The high-contrast marble just looks gaudy to me, ngl. Like someone who suddenly came into some money but doesn't have the taste to spend it wisely. That's just the vibe I get from it, and it's just my opinion. No shade on people who like the look. It's just my impression of it.

I'm glad green is trending. I was leaning towards sage and blue, but I was worried it would look dated.
