February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmHow do I go about listing my soft skills without listing cliches? I feel as though many soft skills I see referenced online and in these comments are also buzzwords/cliches.. trying to figure out the solid middle for a strong resume.

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmWhy is a LinkedIn profile required? I've removed all social media accounts (and couldn't be happier), but if all of the pertinent information is included in a tailored resume for a specific position, why the need for social media?

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmDoes format of text matter when copying/pasting JD in a word cloud generator?
So could I take a random JD from LinkedIn and then paste text into Word cloud ignoring bullets or other text delimiters?

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmExcited to use these tips as I update my resume. Quick question on format… I have over 25 years experience and have traditionally used a resume that has section of Representative Accomplishments, followed by my specific work history. Is this still an appropriate format, or should I stick to current chronological or functional resume format. GREAT information!

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmThe Fifth Key learning in the video references 51% of resumes including buzzwords, cliches, or incorrect pronouns and I'm curious about the last. Is there actually a large number of resumes where people describe themselves with the wrong pronouns (maybe in some grammatical error or even plagiarizing someone else's resume,) or is this implying that trans people may be overlooked if a hiring employee is aware their pronouns differ from their assigned sex at birth?

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmHi Jeff Su,
Nice content, I saw your initial CV template from 2013 to 2014, it looks good in single page CV,
but the main challenge is now you have 10 years experience then how can we keep it in single page CV to short list,
Still, if you have any possibility to keep your 10 years experience in 1 page, suggent in your next video that can be used for experience peoples too.

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmi dont know if anyone can help, but im 22 and on paper im a student, cause middle eastern and all, but since i was 15 i started making music with my 2 brothers and a couple of friends around the city which is a fairly small city, and then turned our garage into a home studio and i ended up turning that as my part time job, recording and mixing songs for local artists and ended up making 800β¬ – 1500β¬, i had no invoice, wasnt registered anywhere my dad tried to ask some lady who worked in some goverment place if he can do it but freelance in italy was not even heard about by the old people working there so they had no idea what to do any help on implementing this on a resume would be appreciated

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmAs of right now, I only have 3 work experiences and a high school diploma, I want to make my resume longer, but I don't want to word vomit everything I did for each position. How Can I make a small resume look bigger without all of the nonsense?

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmHello I am applying for a mechanic technician at a big name military supply contractor. I have worked at this site for a service company servicing equipment there. There are also two large walk through security gates that I fabricated and installed. Would it be of any benefit to state this in my resume or cover letter? I was thinking something like "I always thought it would be a great place to work at and while working there I admired the work atmosphere and the friendly people". Thanks

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmThis is really very good demonstration on preparing a resume, thanks.
I was wondering whether use of shapes, headlines, tables etc. would still let resume be ATS friendly?
Secondly, if we have worked in multiple projects in a company, should we not include the key projects along with their short summary with a section for roles and responsibilities?
Thanks in advance for your kind responses.

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmI am very surprised that formatting & graphic design wasn't mentioned. When I looked up "example resumes" all of them looked nice, and I didn't want to submit a poopy, basic-formatted, black on white resume.

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmOnce again, the advice and examples regarding quantifiable results are based on IT and/or sales careers. Just ONCE I'd like to see this advice made applicable to positions that do not deal with quantifiable results. For example, client facing but non-sales roles, customer service, front-line staff. How does one quantify that?

February 18, 2023 - 8:03 pmThank you for the video! I have a question that has been bothering for a while. I understand why using buzzwords is not ideal, but a lot of job descriptions I came across actually listed a bunch of them in the required skills section of the job description. Now I understand that in theory, it's much better to show examples of you being detail-oriented instead of claiming that you are, however I don't think that ATS is as clever as to actually translate that achievement into the candidate having good attention to detail. Any tips?
