I think the cooling requirements to fully unlock the power of the CPU is actually not a bad thing. Yes, it runs REALLY warm, but the operating speeds aren't affected by the high heat. I think the next generation will build upon this and maybe have even less heat and even more performance.

I don’t think they’re β€œbecoming intel”. You have to remember that intel’s 13th gen processors are the last of this socket, while AMD is transitioning to a newer socket. One generation of a price swap on opposite ends of a cpu’s lifespan doesn’t necessarily indicate a large change in the long term.

No matter how hard the Techies/Gamers Tried to Convince People in India that AMD is better than Intel, But the price of AMD in India sucks!
    Sucks 1000x!!!

AMD and Intel are literally across the street from each other in Santa Clara. Well, the street has become Hwy 101, but that's besides the point. In order to exchange microprocessor secrets, an employee only needs to walk across the parking lot to visit the other facility!

I will go with the 7700x if it could be tuned for 65W, a new platform with AVX 512 is a practical key for a workstation not for gaming

Is the new AM5 platform compatible with current gen PSU's?. I am concerned if I upgrade to AM5 I will have to get a new psu which fully supports pcie5, etc.

I said back in March 2017 that AMD would eventually become the new shittel.

My opinion: The performance gains are certainly nice to see and it's great they managed to push the clock speed so high. I can imagine some people that use CPU-intense workloads may enjoy them when they come out however that 170W TDP is incredibly concerning to me. Kind of glad I decided to grab the 5950x early this year instead of waiting as I shouldn't need more horsepower for some time and it seems efficiency is going out the window instead of improving. Which is sad considering we're currently in a time where electric costs have spiked significantly over the past year.

Where do you take thag Ryzen tdp is more than specs show?
Extencive testing on few models show they keep under the limit and with OC only go over max 23% tdp in extreme cases, usual is close to 1 to 1 with hz % of OC.

AMD is trying to push the market and trying to get toward more powerful cpus from them and Intel in the future. Maybe push to get ddr5 to the forefront and replace ddr4 too.

The entry level for Zen 4 is not steaper than for people going with the 12900k/DD5 route. And it will be good the next 5 years, so you don't really have anything to complain about the cost of Zen 4, really.

I'm not suprised AM5 would be having such lifespan level consider the company already having enough power to renovate and new tech nowaday comes quicker and goes quicker, People seem to forgot the reason why AM4 was keeped for so long was not just because the socket is designed to be that way but rather the company decision itself, tbh AM4 was an elder at this point, consider that the design got a weak point, something gotta change for the better good but whatever makes you happy in the end.
personally I don't think AM5 would really be having such an unrealistic short lifespan unless its successor really got some crazy trick to pull out of their asses to justify the replacement of AM5.

Its funny watching people changed their mind faster when some opinion infested their head whenever its out Yet no one has really got a idea of how these new toy can achieve in the future as a realistic result.

There is always a good tips to follow, if it ain't seriously affecting you in anyway, gave it some distance n watch it as a proving ground for at least year/years, Everybody act like they'll be forced to buy it in the first sight or something…. Just get used to these sort of stuff already, We have yet to understand how justifying these newcomer so why not just wait and see.

I can’t wait to see the 7700x vs 5800x3d. I’m currently running a 3800x. Do I want to see if it will be worth it to build a new computer or upgrade to the 5800x

It is getting more and more out of reach for the gaming consumers to afford any of these new builds. It is rediculous each upgrade now you need to get CPU, board and memory and not to mention the cost it is ourageous.
