March 25, 2024 - 3:58 amIn theory, ttrpg healer shouldn't exist. Their primary job is something else.
Also, healers back in the 90s were better. I grew up with Slayers and Lunar, so healers would heal one minute, then either offensively cast or fearlessly go into melee without fear or bulky armor.

March 25, 2024 - 3:58 amWhen I was a raid leader, I had a great healer who was exactly like this. Every time I get new DPS who has hasn't learned their place, I have to remind them the following:
1.) She's the healer, which means she gets to decide who lives and who dies, you might wanna stay on her good side.
2.) You are a DPS you are not as important as the tank or the healer. If the tank or the healer dies, we wipe, if you die, we just beat the boss slower.
3.) I must remind you that Good Healers and Tanks are HARD to find. Good DPS are a dime a dozen, you can be replaced easily, I cannot replace good Tanks and Healers easily, which means I will treat them better than you, that's just how it is. If you feel it's unfair, you are free to become a tank or a healer, but if you suck at your job, tough luck.

March 25, 2024 - 3:58 amPlayed in a homebrew FF14 DnD campaign before as a Viera WHM. GM kept the sensitivity to magic exposure trait…party barely survived an encounter with a god level monster, triggered my Viera, and he wound up killing party.
I felt vindicated ngl.
