I still don't know what to do – I have possibilty to work on one of three rigs (10700k on Z490 Tomahawk or Z590 Aorus Ultra, 11700k on Aorus Master and 5950x on X570 Unify), RAM amount is 64GB for each rig, 10700k works on 3600/16, 11700k on 3200/14 and 5950x on 3600/18. GPU does not matter because I can move the best one between those 3 rigs, storage is also good, quite big and fast (1TB NVMe gen3 or gen4 as a system drive and SATA SSD as a backup) – my question is which of those three rigs you think is best for universal use (professional use means programming, testing apps in virtual env and creating video materials, r&r means modern gaming in 1440p with 144Hz – higher resolution temporary is out of my interest because of problems with buying reasonable (good and not very expensive) 4K display… so folks what would you choose…

PS. Don't ask me why I dont wanna switch to 12gen intel, this is simple – too much good and still up to date hardware in my range so buying additional junk is bad idea for me… also I don't trust 12gen because of asymmetric cores, bending IHS and quite expensive reasonable motherboard, not mentioning about high power consumption – you saw Gamers Nexus results of 5hr rendering 12900k used 1,2kWh while 5950x only 0,65 kWh with comparable performance..

I went with a 5950x. Multiple reasons, but power draw was certainly one of them, love the numbers there.

Absolutely love that AMD and Intel are trading blows in various metrics of "best". It's a real competition here.

why is the price of all cpu's 10 times more then they should be?…there should be none worth over 25 dollars for a little square piece of silicone plastic….they prices are rediculas for integrated circuits.

Upgraded from r5 1600 that I bought in 2019. First pc I built to a 11600k we will see how it goes when I install the new mobo and cpu, cpu cooler *not stock*.

  • evoniee

    November 1, 2022 - 2:30 am

well certainly 12600k is the best cpu wise. but being best, affordable, efficient is different. new mobo + ddr 5 + higher tdp than competitor is expensive dawg.

Ok, I want to see Steve take 11600K and 12900k to task with Davinci and let us see how well they perform against their respective AMD counterparts with a mid-teir dGPU like a 3060rtx. I know it's called GAMERS Nexus; but considering the content is mostly hw testing & reviews, it would be sweet to see how certain components rate against others for editing compared to gaming. I could b wrong, i can admit i actually was wrong about something once back n '98, it's just not common, lol; but i'm relatively certain that if ur not just faming, but ur actually creating, the renders with 12900k will not be as impressive, especially when u consider it's next Ryzen competitor drops very soon…if Intel took back the crown, it's a fair assumption AMD will dethrone it again n about 8-10wks. This GPU scene is some BS! I built my first rig 20yrs ago, i've studied tech n college, and i love geekin out on specs, so I'm definitely not a noob; but i've never heard so many official geeks and gamers promote IGPUs as an acceptable performance alternative to a dgpu. I hope like Hades NVIDIA will step up their game! Everyone already knows about the demand for mining GPUs, we've known for years now; so it seems like a con job to underproduce the best GPUs and leave most of ur clientele seeking alternatives if they can't find a scalper to tax them both arms & legs…it's like, if i have to give up both arms, i can't even put the fuckin gpu into the board, lol.

Hmm…i wish i knew the details behind the scenes influencing creators here… it just seems like i recall similar comparisons, tho nowhere nearly as concise, on other channels offering different suggestions. I wish i'd seen this a month ago, it totally fucks up my weekend; everytime i make a plan, new information comes to light…fml…the worst thing about junkin out on tech is achieving the best possible config for ur price point before a better option drops…smdh

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7)
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17)

Considering that Bios updates for boards erases support for the 3300X, it's safe to assume they aren't making it ever again.

Those snow globes are really cool. I like how you guys make actual merchandise, and not just T-Shirts. Like shirts are cool and all, but i'm not going to buy a $30shirt just because somebody I like put their name on it.
