March 10, 2023 - 7:16 pmTo clarify: Resume scanners are rare. Most companies have humans review resumes, though some large companies have come forward and said they do in fact use sorting/ranking to help them in the process (like Boston Consulting Group).
Usually if you’re not getting interviews it’s because your resume isn’t very good or the system is too flooded.

March 10, 2023 - 7:16 pmThis is a horribly inefficient way to search for a job. No offense- but your system still takes 20-45 minutes per application. Figuring that it takes 100 applications on average to get an offer, that's 33-75 solid hrs of just tailoring resumes to land a decent job. Including filling out the online application, going to interviews, and searching for relevant job posts, this process could take over a month for even the most savvy professionals. Why am I getting filtered out this way? What the fuck was my fucking master's degree for? Lol Wasnt that supposed to be the filter? 💀

I work with a lot of students who are entry level or who have international experience, or who are changing careers…so Functional style works best IMHO. Their jobs are of course still listed, but I am concerned now that they may not get enough credit for the years of experience they have had using various skills? How can I make sure the bots will see my graduates with functional style or combo resumes??

March 10, 2023 - 7:16 pmI paid someone to make a ATS compliant resume. I'm getting interviews best money I've ever spent. They basically did this for me but I didn't understand at the time. I emailed them 4 jobs I was interested in and they made me a resume and cover letter. Coolest thing is I don't have to copy paste my resume again in boxes. They autofill now.
