You are supposed to overclock the Mhz, not Β°C!

Apparently that sort of failure can also naturally be caused by a bad voltage regulator if the voltage regulator goes bad.

I think the heat did more damage than the volts. 🀣

I had a Ryzen 7 Core burn out on me. completely normal use no over clocking I just shut off the pc for the night and it would not turn back on the next morning. I got a new core Ryzen 9 5960x 16 core and it did the same thing again. What keeps happening?

If u give me the cpu i can kill it. It might take the life expectancy of the cpu but itl get there.

its time is'nt it. too quick for meter but load to idle voltage will over shoot before pulling it back to your target add vdroop or llc to the mix and the over shoot gets bigger. Like the spike you noticed when powered on.

These types of tests aren't super useful because there's two factors that go into it: voltage + time. Sometimes what will work for overclocking for relatively short periods of time will cause it to blow in days, weeks, or months. Any time you run it outside of the spec you are really risking shortening the life.

Engineers back then : we built this cpu very carefully, do not overdo the cpu, might be a permanent damage if you do so.

Engineers now : haha, go wild nerd! You're an animal

My default bios setting for my 12900k was 1.375 volts which is insane. Anyone buying a 12900k, undervolt it! Even if you're not gonna overclock. Crazy how high the default voltage is. Exactly why these 12900k are hitting high 80 degree temps bone stock.

If you weren't just a kid in a fucking candy store you probably would have tested the cpu for its max overclock b4 the test & again after the test!
I know you expected to kill it but a little science and a test for degradation is common sense here

Do you think its possible to damage the motherboard instead by mistake, with those temps and voltages?
