I have a Winjoy LED/UV light and have had curing problems…I.e. doesn’t cure all the way through. After some investigation it turns out the 120 button is LOW HEAT mode which is generally what I use because in my brain I’m thinking more time to ensure full cure. Second thing I noticed was SOME hybrid gel brands (Beetles and Rosalinol are 2 I have) you cure top of nail then FLIP to cure UNDERSIDE of nail.

Yet ANOTHER inconsistency I’m seeing is whether or not to use an alcohol swipe after each cure. Again some brands of hybrid gel or gel polish say swipe, others no swipe.

On the lid of my box I wrote a cheat sheet of the different brands and times hoping that solves some of my problems. So confusing 😵‍💫

So helpful!! Should we wipe off the steaky thing that comes out when we UV the base coat?

Why didn’t your wipe off the dust with alcohol after filing ? Also you need to mention if it’s a no wipe basecoat or not. In your other video with hybrid gel you made it thick!

I feel a bit like an idiot for not realising that you can use multiple beads with hybrid gels. I'd always seen people using one bead so I figured that was how it was supposed to be done.

Can you elaborate on what do you mean polygel is a brand? In school, I learned polygel was a product and the gel is branded by different companies.

Every time I use gel the nails comes off the same day. It doesn’t matter if I follow the instructions and have the same brand on every product I use. What the…..am I doing wrong? I follow the instructions, the products are not old, and It’s the same brand on all the products I use so I don’t switch between different brands doing one nail. (It doesn’t even matter what kind of brand I use, the gel falls of)

Im a more or less starting nail artist and i have a dilemma. No matter what i do w hybrid gel, if the nail is on longer side (like in this vid) it will break. Every time. Is It just that hybrid is softer? I have tried making it thicker on apex. Few times even alot thicker to the point it looks kinda off. Im sure its cured okay and i have no idea how it goes. Any help? 😅

I read that you can make the poly gel softer by putting the tube in a mug of hot water for 10 to 15 minutes first. This should make it easier to use and manipulate, what is your opinion on this trick?

Does it have an effect on the texture overall or is it safe

Thank you! I’m learning so much. My first set? Oh that was ugly and thick lmfao. Second set? Better but still having some issues where I’d clean up the cuticle before curing and the dual form slips so I get air bubbles. Hope to make more progress on third set.

Hi Suzie. Excellent video. I had no idea polygel is a trademark word. I’ll now correct myself to hybrid gel. Than you. Also, I just went to your store and I can’t believe how many things you’ve added. It’s amazing how your site and videos are evolving and keeping up with better/ newer techniques. You are by far in my top 3 nail educators on You Tube. Thank you for sharing, coming from a fellow Western Canadian. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Love your tutorials! Best on youtube! Can anyone tell me the strength of hybrid gel compared to strength of acrylic? (I'm an acrylic girl for yearrrrrrrrrrs . My nails are usually 'active length', sometimes longer, but either way- acrylic overlay on my natural nails allow them to slice through packing tape on boxes etc. LOL They never break and I'm Rough!) Just curious if I have to be a little more delicate if I switch to hybrid gel. Thanks!

I love your videos, you explain so well‼️ Here’s 2 questions I still have:

    1) Do you use any type of primer or dehydrator after filing natural nail and brushing off dust⁉️

    2) I get air bubbles under my poppits even though it appears there isn’t any bubbles prior to curing. Is it because the hybrid gel isn’t curing all the way through⁉️

I gave up on hybrid gel after investing in quite the stash of product. I am going to try again curing thin layers as you describe and see if that helps. It’s so frustrating when I spend hours making my nails look pretty then a day later the whole nail pops off…never breaks just flies off with little to no stress in the nail.

Many thanks for all your wonderful videos‼️
