Jokes aside though, i find it very interesting that these are the averages in the Netherlands. I am based on Vienna and I would say salaries might be around the same depenfding on the level

I worked part-time for 223 EU/month, then got a raise up to 340 EU/month, this continued for 8 to 9 months, and this the worst employment of my life, would never go there again, horrible company, horrible people, though I got a log of motivation to study for better opportunities, them – I now have obtained π

February 13, 2023 - 5:47 amI got β¬500 a month for my full time internship (which is a lot for the netherlands). That is less than the absolute minimum loan of a 14 yo working in a super market.
It is stupid. It is dumb. It is not right. But companies will tell you that βyou should be glad to get the oppertunityβ or to feel lucky or whatever. It is the cheapest, scummiest thing.

Current position: Working student 20h/week at a Dutch company in Germany: 900 Netto after Pension. Soon: Internship Deloitte full time: 1000 Brutto. Not sure how much it will be Netto. Any other experiences in this field?

February 13, 2023 - 5:47 amFrom personal experience Amazon does not pay nearly as well as your were mentioning (at least in Germany). More like half of the salary which is in line with Microsoft, Siemens, BMW and pretty much any big German company. To intern at Amazon I actually took a tiny pay cut compared to a small local company I joined during high school. So I do think the big companies know exactly who they want to attract and will also pay lower if they can get great talent at that price.
Maybe Amsterdam has a lot less CS students compared to Munich?
Facebook on the other hand pays pretty much what you were mentioning.

February 13, 2023 - 5:47 amWow. So some interns made more than me, than I did when I moved to Germany with 54K with 6 years experience and upto 2 years after that.
I guess I was on "visa minimum wage". Talk about shattered dreams. Either way, I guess it is my fault that I am in this situation.
