Job de Jong is a name that is synonymous with innovation and success in the financial industry. De Jong’s journey began in the 1990s when he graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a degree in economics. Shortly after, he secured his first job at ABN AMRO, one of the largest banks in the Netherlands at the time. Here, he was able to gain invaluable experience in a range of roles across the bank’s investment, risk management, and corporate finance divisions.

It wasn’t long before de Jong’s talents and potential were recognized, and he was promoted to various senior positions within the bank. During this time, he was instrumental in introducing several innovative products and services that helped the bank maintain its competitive edge in the industry.

One of his most notable achievements was the development of a revolutionary risk management platform that enabled ABN AMRO to better monitor and manage its exposure to market risks. After spending almost 20 years at ABN AMRO, de Jong decided it was time for a new challenge, and in 2012, he joined SNS REAAL, a Dutch financial services company, as its Chief Risk Officer. Following the acquisition of SNS REAAL by the Dutch government, de Jong decided to leave the company in 2014 to pursue new opportunities. It was during this time that he decided to embark on a new venture and founded his own consultancy firm, JDJ Consultants, which provided risk management, compliance, and governance services to banks and other financial institutions.

With his vast experience and expertise in the financial industry, it wasn’t long before JDJ Consultants became a resounding success, attracting clients from across the globe. One of its most notable assignments was a major project with the Central Bank of Suriname, where de Jong and his team were tasked with overhauling the country’s entire banking system.

In 2018, de Jong took on a new challenge when he joined the supervisory board of Van Lanschot Kempen, a leading Dutch wealth management and investment firm. As a board member, he has been responsible for overseeing the company’s risk management, compliance, and audit functions, helping to drive growth and innovation in a rapidly evolving industry.

Throughout his career, de Jong has received numerous accolades and recognition for his contributions to the financial industry. In 2015, he was named one of the “Top 40 Under 40” in the finance industry by Crain’s New York Business, and in 2019, he was honored with the prestigious “Risk Manager of the Year” award by the Dutch Risk Management Association.
