Up until episode 7, the show closely followed the book. Episode 7 completely went a different direction though, and now I am not sure what will happen!

April 8, 2024 - 3:07 amI'm really hoping that they go on to remake some of other Clavell's novels – Shogun and Tai Pan are both amongst my favourite stories of all time. Some of the subsequent books tie in descendants of characters from the Tai Pan and Shogun stories (although Gai Jin which kind of draws on both storylines is probably Clavell's worst work IMO)
