I must say that Vermont was the most magical place I ever lived and even now, I still miss everything about it – the 4 seasons, the cold rivers, downhill skiing…. I could make a list a mile long. Glad that you are experiencing it like I did so many years ago!

As I'm getting older, I'm sort of getting better at realizing it, but I still need a small reminder from time to time, to be present and to be grateful for what I have in my life. You and Kyle are extremely good at it. And I thank you for that ๐ Btw can't wait to seeing you two finishing the cabin and also whatever adventure the end of summer brings. I'm sure it's gonna be time to remember!

I lost all my San Marzanoโs to blossom end rot, battled cucumber bugs in my zucchini, and conceded to spraying my potato plantsโฆ.but I wouldnโt trade a minute of the time I got to spend with my plants for anything๐ Thereโs always next season ๐

Here is an Idea for you, Before my grandparents got electric on their farm they had a ram water pump in the spring run in the meadow, A ram uses the flow of the water to push water through the pipe. Since you have a nice stream with a good flow might work for you. The Amish still use them Check out Lehman Store in Ohio they handle a lot of cool stuff for the Amish. The store is full of antiques.

February 15, 2023 - 4:45 pmThe weather has been kinder to us here in the Rockies with cooler days and nights after a hot start. Rain has been the highlight of the whole summer so far. Reminds me of the Colorado I got to know decades ago. Friends in Connecticut have been very hot and I feel for them. Less rain in New England is unusual. There was a drought when I was a kid and I remember restaurants did not put water out with meals unless you asked for it. The woods were so dry the leaves crackled when you stepped on them in the dry heat. Your streams are still up for swimming. The necessity of year round water. ๐๐ธ๐๐
