The i9-12900KS may be 3% faster, but with higher power draw, twice the cost, and twice the cores. I'd say AMD is winning, here.

Lol fast forward to 10/20/2022, and the 5800X3D equals the 13600K in gaming performance (it's not close for Productivity, 13600k wins by alot, i don't care, – not my workload) It was pretty silly to suggest an overclocked 5800X could match an X3D on average, in games. It's not really close. The 5800X3D – at stock, is the undisputed king of AM4 gaming. Maybe it took the 4090 to make this obvious. Time told the tale. I upgraded my 5900X to the 5800X3D – which best it by a solid 25% on average. Sold 5900X for almost what the 5800X3D cost me..

I just upgraded to the 5800X3D from a 3700X. Made more sense right now given I'd have to buy a whole new motherboard for 7000 series. So far it's brought noticeable stability to games that previously worked fine but would display a fair amount of hitching. (GPU RTX 3080 FE)

If you only game The 5800x3d is still a damn good value even with 13th gen Intel and the 7000 AMD cpus.

How does the 5800x3d fare with older single core heavy titles? (City Skylines, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Arma 3, Elite Dangerous Odyssey etc)

12700k is the best bang for the buck if you don't want problems. It beats the 5900x in some programs and it doesn't crash your older games that are confused by the amd cores…

I have a question that I need answered by anybody that knows !!! – Will this 5800x3d with my 1440p 240hz monitor be able to get 200+fps in warzone ? Mainly wondering if this cpu is what I NEED to get more frames I have a 3070 right now but am upgrading at Xmas time to either 3080ti or 3090 and I only play competitively in wz tournaments . Need to know if this cpu will get me the frames I’m supposed to be getting with my monitor! Someone please answer if you have an idea 🙌🏽
