    China have other plans for Supercomputer CPU and it is not x86 based. Competely different instruction set and architecture and OS.

    Well, it’s not surprising giving that you’re dealing with VIA product. I wonder why they didn’t order some design from Transmeta instead.

    Considering it's an early effort, I don't think it's super terrible and given the politics involve I think it makes sense for them to release something like this.

    I wonder if there is special government pricing they are hoping consumers will subsidize, perhaps out of patriotism?

    X86 is no longer a target for china’s major interest as they have the technology to produce an alternative also they have developed their own operating systems and they have been forced to abandon android and thus intel technology thanks to America.

    Why using the ZX-C? At the moment of recording this video, the ZX-E had already been released. That would have been a fairer comparison. The ZX-C is prehistoric even for Zhaoxin. This is clearly biased in favor of US companies.

    The reason for not allowing foreign CPUs in their military computers is kinda obvious: if you were supplying chips to a country you might well face in war, how many security/other exploits could you build into them?

    This is a couple of years too late but one thing China is amazingly good at is reverse engineering. They may have trouble manufacturing the technology but they will sooner or later play around with the concept enough to make something easier to manufacture. It's scary and fascinating at the same time.

    If anyone wants know Via shuttered Centaur Technology last year. They sold what remained of the company to Intel. So they no longer make CPUS in the USA. They still manufacture CPUs with that Chinese company.

    wow those old ibm 6×86 and cyrix mII still exists, i thought they were more valuable melted for scrap gold…
    i had poor results with a cyrix 486 dx4/133, it felt like the motherboard wasn't getting enough torque to use the cpu cycles and cache efficiently.
    also the computer was a lot faster in dos games rather than windows 98 games.

    China has been oppressed and and sanctioned by USA and its allies for so many years. It is time for China brilliant scientist to use all local resources and talent to create whatever necessary technology itself and stop buying foreign product. China has HUGE market. Stop Chine money outflow. China can survive the sanction and oppression.

    Chinese are smart people and hardworking.;;

    Thats fing scary. They had invented/reverse engineered their own CPUs. Couple of years behind, but what is a couple of years in R&D, when Intel and AMD are just sitting on their hands. Add to that the rumored ARM Chinese division being cut off from the parent company, and you are looking at a chinese silicon being equal or overtaking the traditional manufacturers. Scary.

    I clicked through this video, but as a normal grown up adult I cannot watch someone with long hair. I also watch Linus from Linus tech lips, but this guy is also very childish at some points. I get links to TechTechPotato, finally a normal person who does not want to be childish and brag how thick is arm are from exercising sports school. Be grown up, you IT people!
