The book does answer the question as to why Job suffered what he did. It was for his work, for his transgressions as all men in the book explained, except for Job who saw himself as righteous. However the Lord did not see him as being righteous. Rather his case of being righteous didn't stand before the Lord, and therefore Job repented of what he was saying all along, which was that he was righteous, and that it wasn't right that he should suffer all that he did, However, Job was wrong. God had been right all along. God made that quite clear to him when he spoke to him.

None of the men agreed with Job that he was righteous, not his 3 friends, nor Elihu and for good reason. God didn't agree with him either on that. God's judgment is right, all the time. Never does God pervert judgment. God is always just. Not only does Elihu make that clear, but the Lord himself makes that clear to Job, that he (God) indeed is just, therefore Job repents of all that he was saying.

So why is it that so many people today don't understand that? Have people been teaching this book wrong? Have they been doing it for many years?

Some people say that Job was righteous up until the day that his great troubles came in one day. However I don't see that at all. Nowhere can I see that the Bible says that. Why? Why don't I see that as so many people do? Maybe it's the version of the Bible I read. There are so many Bibles out today, so many versions.

Some take what the Lord said in Job 1:8 as two sentences, and some as only one, and that sentence being a question. However, some Bibles take what the Lord says in Job 1:8 and put it into two sentences, the first part being a question, and the second part being a statement. Maybe that in part accounts for different opinions.

Even a sinner can maintain some level of integrity. Just because we have sinned, does that mean we don't have any integrity at all? I believe almost everyone has some level of integrity. Some might have more and some might have less. There may be times in our lives that we have more integrity than at other times. That's not uncommon.

What if someone was teaching from Genesis about the fall of man, about how Adam and Eve were wonderful people, about how they enjoyed communion with God, but then God threw them out of the garden, but he didn't tell you about the command of God that they violated?

Well in Job, we don't see all the commands that God might have given Job, prior to his great troubles that came in one single day. However later on in the book when Job and his friends start talking to one another, then we hear about the instruction of God that they knew about.

Some people suggest that Job was used as something like a piece of money thrown into the pot of a poker game to see who could win it, but God isn't drawn into poker games like people often are. God cannot be tempted with evil.

Have you ever watched court proceedings? Sometimes a lawyer will motion to a judge for a recess because he has something he needs to do pertaining to his work during the trial. Now the judge might grant the recess, but maybe it has nothing at all to do with the reason the lawyer wanted. Maybe the judge wanted a recess for some other reasons, yet he granted the recess.

Judges in this world often need to give account of their actions for there are powers higher than they, but God doesn't need to give account of his actions to anybody. When that happens, we might find ourselves in some kind of a test. Tests in this life are not always a bad thing. Tests help us learn things. Tests in life will often help to perfect us.

I don't find one single question answered in the book as being the main or most important point because the book has so much to teach us. It would be difficult to point out one thing as being the most important, yet I suppose the most important point or teaching it might have to offer us is to not lean unto our own understanding, but to trust God instead, or maybe the most important thing to learn is to fear God and depart from evil, for that is both wisdom and understanding. Yet, I say, this book has so much to teach. It' so rich. It's such a treasure, it's difficult to find only one thing to learn. In fact, it's impossible to learn only one thing from it.

I kind of wish there was one more chapter at the end of Job. At the very beginning we see God and Satan going back and forth about Job…it's almost like they're making a wager as to how Job would do through suffering. He lost his ranch, his kids, his spiritual partner (his wife), and his wealth and his health. Yes, he complained a lot (who wouldn't?) but in the end, he said, "Though He slay me, yet will I serve Him." So, the added chapter might look like this: As in the first scene, there's God and Satan summing up how the wager went. Somebody had to say, "I told you so." In other words, my takeaway from the book of Job is this: All our lives we are taught, "Have faith in God." But God has faith in us. God had faith that Job could pull it off. Whenever I'm going through a rough patch, I remember that God has faith in me to pull it off. That's my humble opinion.

My intepretation of this book is that it exemplifies God's providence when we have faith and choose never to curse God when things seem to not go our way. Job lost alot of nice things, what they would be comparable to today would be a nice family, lots of land to grow grapevines, a nice luxury vehicle, great physical health and then suddenly he loses everything. Despite feeling abandoned Job doesn't curse God or blaspheme His name, eventually he receives more than what he had lost, Esther SSN🤖 Seems like God is being arbitrarily cruel to Job but it serves as a literary tool to exemplify God's awesome power and Job's faith despite personal hardship🏍

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, And that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; Yet trouble came.

    Job 3:25‭-‬26 KJV

The reason bad things happen to good people is summed up in the verse above. He said he wasn't in safety but when satan tried first job was protected. Because satan itself says you build an hedge around him how did he know if he hasn't tried but job was busy affaid and talking his fear. Jesus said you shall have whatsoever you say. Speak what you want not your fear.

Having the struggle and pain of a 15 year old son who has died, my response has been to bring this to the Lord in prayer. The change in a parent’s life after a child’s death is real. It’s like everything you once knew vanished away and you are starting over, trying to figure out how to live again. In the pain, there is the sweetness of God’s mercy and grace, as well as a longing to be in His presence in Heaven. There is a greater urgency to speak the gospel to the lost. I am confident because of the justification God gave me, that I will see my Jacob again. One day, He who sits on the throne will make all things new. Come Lord Jesus.

hmm there is NOTHING complicate in the BooK of Job its just a simple massage " the Creator of the Universe or GOD is in another level and any living thing can not reach or comunicate with this Entity" the Idea of GOD was created by Humans Beings so we can have something to look for or Look up! and it has done alot of good overall and some bad, there is a line on the book of job when "God answered Job" its quite deep becuase Job was not expecting an answer! when Job heard those "words" he cried wirh bitter tears! NEVER in whole life Job was not expecting that answers to his pain!

In king James, it says God was incited by Satan, not just once, but twice. Well if God can be incited, why would any human think they can't be? It wasn't that Job wasn't righteous, he had become self righteous. In the end, the only one who truly had a grasp on God, was a young person. Why, probably because he hadn't been corrupted by mankind, and Job was rewarded again because he realized his mistake, and God's power.

This explanation completely ignores the fact that God did not impart this suffering onto Job for any of the half dozen possible reason described. No. He did it because he was hanging out in Heaven and was basically dared to prove Job’s faithfulness. That was mighty kind of him to restore Job’s life to the “pre-dare” state. I have serious issues with this story. It’s basically the Biblical version of Trading Places.

The located position and time is unknown so as to be derived by Job. The variable remaining unmentioned is the Satan. Job can come to know of the Satan being there and then. This is velocity. As long as Job suffers, the time and place of the Satan's death is then known to Job and Job alone.
Faith is a constant by Job, and as such is a known quantity for Job to come to know the manner of the Satan's death with a probabilty of 1.
    Reveal yourself, scared person.
My comment has no hate in it and I do no harm. I am not appalled or afraid, boasting or envying or complaining… Just saying. Psalms23: Giving thanks and praise to the Lord and peace and love. Also, I'd say Matthew6.

The story of Job very nicely fits into Taoist philosophy of not to lament the bad things that happen because you never know the true ramifications for any one event. Your horse throwing your son and breaking his leg can stop him from being conscripted into military service. Trust in the Lord and have faith ☦️
