I know this video is older but I just came across it. So what if you make many different things but they have a theme…. Let's say gothic or celestial and everything you make is colored or designed around it though they are many types of items?

Wonderful & very informative but a tiny section of it is bugging me and I just have to address the elephant in the room because I guarantee that others have noticed it too but wouldn't say anything because they don't want to be "that guy"/"that girl". Well, I'm not afraid….In this video at the 11:02 mark it sounds EXACTLY like you are saying fuc**rs because of your accent so, I don't know how or even if you want to somehow shoot this video or section again but I just wanted to let you know because if it were me, I'd want to know.
    Take care, Deborah!

Thank you so much for these videos!! I am planning to open an Etsy store soon but I'm clueless about so many things. I can listen to these videos while I work on my earrings and I feel like I'm learning so much before I get things started for selling. Absolute gold, thank you.

This video is spot on and articulates for me why my current shop has been my most successful business venture. It’s a combination of all the factors you mentioned, but the one that stands out to me is selling what people actually want as opposed to expressing myself artistically and then hoping other people like what I produce.

Hi Deborah!!! Lovely content. I always always watch your vids I even replay them at times lol..

I have few questions thou. About niche, since I am doing metal stamping, I fell in love with this method. I can make keychain, necklace, pet name tag etcetera with this method, is it adviseable to sell all these pieces or just focus on one? Second, is there a sign to look out for when let's say, it's about time to stop and look for other materials to make or is patience the key and surely one will be successful if they only wait and persevere? Third, over saturation, you mentioned having competition is good but is it also possible that there might not be room for me to sell anymore?

    Hi There.

"Niche down." So true. Sometimes takes a little testing.

"Profit" is so important or it's not sustainable. Also, doing my research on tags and competition is a great help.

Trends don't appeal to me. However, if there is some technique or related part of a theme, I may be able to relate.

"Professional" and "passionate", very important. As a very small business, I address these points. I am mostly a custom order and uncommon hobby business for Etsy shoppers. However, I enjoy the whole Etsy process and learning experience.

    Thanks❣️
