October 29, 2022 - 8:03 pmguys im thinking about upgrading from gt 730 i3 2100 and 4gb ram to rtx 2060 i5 10400F and 16gb of 2666MHz gddr4 ram is that good to be able to run newer games its like 800$ or do you have any better suggestions for a lower price but to be able to run newer games

October 29, 2022 - 8:03 pmoh it seems like AMD STILL has zero answer to the now legendary alder lake i3. it punches waaaaaaaay above its price point its unbelievable. perfect for 1st builds where you can funnel an extra $150 to the GPU budget. instead of an i5 + 3050 you can get an i3 + 3060 – which actually performs faster most of the time in games.

October 29, 2022 - 8:03 pmHahahahaah! Anyone here with a CPU with over 8 threads from the last 3 years should not upgrade their rig to anything else, to do so is wasting money. I had a 3600 then went to 5800x only cause I knew I would be much more comfortable with 16 threads for what I dol, having said that even the r5 3600 should last a gamer a very very long time, only upgrade your gpu if you have that chip. I went for 16 threads cause I absolutely need them for shader compiling and better video export times. Even then I felt like I wasted a bit of money, the r5 is no slouch, 16 threads will last you a bit longer though, those that chose a 3700x did the wise thing, I went for the 3600 to wait for ryzen 5000 and at least 16 threads.

Lort knows I won't ever have the money for a 3090 ti π, so there is no need for anything super high end other than bragging rights lol.

I'm still rocking an 11 year old i7 2600. (Yeah, you heard me, I said 2600, not 12600!) Looks like I'll be going for something like an i5 12600K, to have just a little bit of room to grow.
