Albion Online is a sandbox mmo advertised by an old man with a croaky voice, it’s a game about crafting and then fighting and dying and losing all your crafting tools and feeling silly while you punch a tree with your bare hands.
It’s a sandbox which historically struggle to gain or keep players, but does Albion buck the trend by having JUST enough framework to guide players like me?

April 30, 2024 - 8:39 pmI've 200 hours and really enjoyed it up until a certain point. Dying with gear becomes too punishing at a certain point and the grind for resource tools is too much when it's inherently unsafe to gather

April 30, 2024 - 8:39 pmYou've read all the menus etc and you produced a pretty good beginner guide but honestly as usual you kinda missed the mark and don't really understand the essence of the game beyond the beginner tutorial. Which is probably a good thing because it's all skill based PvP which you would inevitably give a bad review because you judge every game from victim PoV and aren't willing to learn to get good. Nobody would describe Albion as a "relaxing grind" it only makes sense if youre hitting t2 trees in the blue zone but thats not the game.

Fuck this game, good luck making money any other way than gathering, PvE or PVP. No way to make the economy work for you. Black market is a joke and not worth the trip or the risk, no centralized information hub 3rd party or otherwise, so you if you wanna check if you should go to hufflepuff to seel that leather jacket, or syltherin, cool. here's a 5-10 minute trip from one city to another and back and forth, walking simulator.
Can't even have more than 3 character on your account, so you can't even plant a character in each market, and switch between them to look.
it truly is, slam two sticks together to collect the next level of dingdong to get better stick to slam together… and then sell whatever excess you've got.
All in all, every market is oversaturated, especially the black market.

April 30, 2024 - 8:39 pmJust a fair warning. This video for whatever reason leaves out a major downside of this game. That probably puts it closer to a 5/10. There's no quests in this game beside the basic tutorial. There's a vague story of a king and deranged heretics.
