Literally asked this question yesterday via email however it was more on the how. Us busy wage earners slaving for pennies are lacking time to trade. Going daily/4h for example, do you still enter around an open or close of market? Does it really matter? I'm finding it impossible to find the right moment thanks to the crappy expensive country I live in. Cheers team.

I dont agree with Navin. Any trader's chosen Time Frame is the Time, trader is ready to WAIT before he checks few things and decide whether he should Enter or Exit a trade. If X is following 15min then X would wait 15/30/45min before he decide to Enter/Exit. If Y is following 60min then Y would wait 60/120/180min before he decide to Enter/Exit. If in between Price has reached a particular level, still one should wait minimum that ONE UNIT of time ( one bar ) to check the price ACCEPTABILITY in that very level. Hence CANDLE CLOSING is important and waiting for the Candle Close is important. If anyone chose 60min time frame, he should ask himself whether he has patience and matching attitude to seat idle for 60min before he takes a call! A big institution might chose a particular price to Buy or Sell but we the retail trader need to WATCH his ACTIONS before we decide our Buy/Sell. For that a minimum price action watching time must be there for me and that is my Time Frame!

Can u make a video about when to take partial profits or letting trades run

  • @MyRook

    April 18, 2024 - 4:00 am

Time frames are mainly for interpretation of Price action… short term price action ( lower time frames) and the big picture ( higher time frames). It's just a picture of what's happened in the past and you have to guess what's going to happen next. Fundamental analysis is the key to success plain and simple. Times frames are only used to narrow down YOUR preferred entry point.

Many successful traders use TPO charts (not in forex) so how long price remains at a level can clearly be a factor!

I don't agree. To react on trend / momentum changes it can be indeed very important to use the "right" timeframe. Unfortunately this is not part of what you teach people at Urban Forex. And very often the "right" timeframes are not the standard timeframes, which are used in Metatrader or Tradingview. (H1, D1 p.e.) You can learn this from Sam Price, a very experienced trader and you will be surprised, Navin!
